Seeds of Growth: Social Enterprise Hub Seed Grants 2021/2022

The SE Hub has disseminated almost 200-thousand US dollars for a variety of proposals through the Hub Seed Grants. This process was started this year when a call for proposals went out for the Seed Grants for start-up ventures or expansion of an existing businesses. 35 MAs applied to the grant process from across the federation. After a comprehensive, two-tier streamlining process which comprised a presentation and Q&A round, the final 13 MAs were selected by a three-member panel.

In addition to financial support, the recipients will receive Hub support in the form of capacity building and technical assistance to grow a successful income-generating enterprise.

These seed grants are investments with the potential for broad community impact in the SRH and non SRH field as well as being a steady source of income for the MA in the future.

The awarding of seed grants takes place periodically so that MAs that have limited access to funding and other sources of financing have the opportunity of establishing or expanding a business.

We are excited to see how the MAs social enterprise journey towards sustainability unfolds!
