Your chance to co-design the IPPF Secretariat Accountability Mechanism

The IPPF Secretariat is embarking on a journey to develop a system that will enable it to become fully accountable and responsive to Member Associations and would like to invite you to have a say in how the system will work.

IPPF is setting up a task force to design an innovative mechanism to assess the performance and accountability of the Secretariat against IPPF Strategy and approved Secretariat priorities as outlined in the Business Plan.

This work is framed in the context of improving the Secretariat performance, transparency and accountability towards IPPF Member Associations (MAs) and Collaborative Partners (CPs) through the adoption of in-depth and regular reviews of Secretariat aimed to assess Secretariat relevance, performance and effectiveness against key operational, programmatic, external relations, learning and management areas.

We envision that this mechanism will enable the Secretariat to fully adopt an MA-centered approach in which MAs and CPs can contribute to assessing the Secretariat’s relevance, performance and effectiveness, and influence the Secretariat’s decision-making, making it more responsible and accountable to MAs and CPs.

We believe that involving MAs and CPs in all stages of the development of this tool will ensure that we ask the ‘right’ questions to get actionable feedback that allows the Secretariat to align its support to the needs of the MAs. In this spirit, we would like to invite all MAs to be involved in this work from the onset, by 1) providing on-demand feedback that will be used to refine and improve the prototype of the Accountability Mechanism 2) helping the Secretariat test the Mechanism.
