Recruitment now open for IPPF’s new Board and NGC

As part of our ongoing reform, IPPF will be replacing its Governing Council with a new member skills-based Board of Trustees, and instituting a Nominations and Governance Committee (NGC) to lead recruitment for future Boards and Board Committee members.

We are pleased to inform that the advert for these governance roles was just published, both for internal candidates from among IPPF’s membership and for external candidates.

The  internationally renowned search firm Perrett Laver was contracted by the Transition Committee to lead recruitment of candidates for the 15 members of the Board, 9 of whom will be from the IPPF membership and 6 of whom will be external to IPPF, and for the 7 members of the NGC.

We have uploaded a series of documents to the Transition website’s resources section to provide IPPF’s membership with greater details on the call for candidates and the roles and responsibilities of Board and NGC members; you can also find the skills matrix that prospective candidates will be required to submit on this page.

As the advert makes clear, IPPF is looking for people who will bring a wide range of skills, expertise, and lived experience that will support the Board’s and NGC’s governance functions and IPPF’s broad vision of SRHR for all.

In order to promote youth engagement in the recruitment process, we have created a FAQ sheet on youth participation in IPPF’s governance here. Also visit our new Voices for Change page, which has two short videos on youth participation. And if you’d like to add your voice to this page with a short blog or vlog, please write to ippfreform@ippf.org.

If you are interested in applying, you will need to

  1. Go to the posting on Perret Laver’s website here.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “download further details” to receive the skills matrix, or download it here.
  3. Prepare all of your application materials, including your CV, a cover letter, the completed skills matrix, and a letter from your MA confirming that you are a volunteer (this is not an endorsement). No staff may apply.
  4. Fill out the online application at Perret Laver’s website. Upload the letter from your MA under the prompt “upload additional documents, as requested.” This is required only for internal IPPF candidates.

Please also share the advert with anyone in your network who you think would be a good candidate.
