Social Enterprise Academy

IPPF’s Social Enterprise Hub launched the Social Enterprise Academy website last year. This website is a virtual knowledge repository and learning platform to support and empower Member Associations in their ongoing or future social enterprise and business planning process.

This custom-developed and free to use social enterprise platform can be accessed from this link, and the registration takes less than a minute.

The below two links provide additional information and can be referred before a user registers onto the site.
We highly recommend for interested users to take a moment to read through these guides before they browse the site.

User Manual – includes an overview of all the features

The SE Hub has recently developed and upgraded the website (refer to the list below) with new content and functions for the benefit of the site users.

A facelift to the login page and a few minor bugs have also been corrected to make the site experience more user-friendly.
If there are any inquiries to the below or colleagues who wish to contribute any content, please contact the SE Hub for support.

What’s new on the site:

  • ‘Scenario-Based Learning’ or ‘SBL’ for short – will allow users to share their views, stimulate their social enterprise thinking, test their knowledge, and interact virtually 1 on 1 with the SE Hub in a series of scenarios, trivia, and on current focus areas. Log in and look at the interesting SBLs we have added so far.
  • Learning modules dashboard – Able to view personal ‘Learning Dashboard’ which includes complete and incomplete modules, progress to-date, the status of the quizzes undertaken, and a system-generated e-Certificate for successful completion of all the modules. A completion icon can also be viewed against the sub-modules.
  • Videos – Previously, users would be redirected externally/away from the site to browse and view videos. The latest development enables the SE Hub to add high-definition videos onto the site under all the main sections, thus providing a seamless experience to the user on viewing videos.
  • Resources – Addition of a variety of new reports, templates, guides, and links to pick and use per requirements.
  • News section – Weekly addition of both IPPF-related and external news items, ongoing Q&A series featuring our own colleagues, and a filter option to segregate the different news features.
  • Weekly Newsletter – Made available to all registered users: to receive a weekly newsletter email when new additions are made within the site.
  • Announcements – Listed in two places on the login page, these short announcements contain notices from the SE Hub that cover external SE related opportunities (funding calls, workshops, etc.), the release of publications, and important and updates.
  • Search bar – Able to search specific content by entering keywords within this site.
  • Enhancements to the ‘Gallery’ area – Multiple new albums covering our MAs’ SE ventures, business tips, motivational hacks, and pinned album feature.
  • Email and system notifications – Increase in the number of notifications for clear communication, including personalized notifications for user-specific activity.
  • Rating and feedback – An optional feature that allows users to share their experience and feedback for improvement on the site. Users will be able to rate the site with their comments and select one of five rating categories.
  • Site map – Available at the bottom of the login page. This will give anyone interested a graphical view of what is covered within the SE Academy.

Coming soon:

Based on our users’ feedback, we are also excited to inform you that the SE Hub has started work on the below major feature additions and expect this to go live in the coming months.

  • Most of the contents will be accessible in Spanish, French, and Arabic.
  • The addition of many more new learning modules and sub-modules to cover important business topics and themes to enhance MA knowledge and social enterprise acumen.
