Carl Osvald

Communication Director, RFSU

Carl has been the Communication Director for the IPPF MA RFSU for 12 years and is part of the RFSU Leadership Team. He has been working with communications and branding for almost three decades, in civil society as well as in the commercial sector.

During the past two years RFSU has worked intensely to define the new RFSU strategy, which is now being executed. The strategy process has involved every part of the organisation, and Carl’s responsibility as head of communication has been to translate it into communication for target audiences.

Carl loves to challenge himself and the organization in making priorities and ending up focusing on overarching messages that creates buzz, curiosity and willingness to be part of RFSU. He has an eye for relevant and accessible communication that can engage and create interest outside the inner circle.

Carl believes that we in IPPF need to make use of our strength as a confederation and bring good examples and value across borders and MAs. It is important to focus on youth, including the challenge to lower thresholds and to give young people the opportunity to understand what SRHR means for them and why IPPF/MAs could be a part of their will to change the world. And there are still many parts of society we don´t reach in regard to the intersectional perspective, where we need to be much more relevant, inclusive and accessible.
